Looking for a peaceful spot far from the hustle and bustle of the city? Philippe Antonin’s gourmet restaurant, located just a dozen or so metres from the Rhône, forms the centre of this pretty haven of tranquillity. Here, you can eat and sleep enclosed by restful, unspoilt surroundings. The restaurant is situated close to the Ain and Isère borders, and Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport, the Groupama Stadium and the medieval city of Crémieu are all within easy reach. In surroundings which combine unusual architecture with a decidedly contemporary décor, Philippe Antonin, a ‘Meilleur Ouvrier de France’ award-winner, lovingly creates an imaginative and seasonal cuisine. Sautéed Dombes frog legs happily sit alongside smoked monkfish carpaccio, herring caviar and beets, and ‘thirteen hour’ veal chuck steak with a herb crust. The chef also offers game when in season.
