After having built its reputation on the doorstep of the Dombes region, the Marguin family is now delighting fine diners in far more urban surroundings. Christophe is the fourth generation in a family of talented chefs, and with his wife, Nicole, entertains customers and friends in his restaurant in the sixth arrondissement. The tone is set as soon as you enter by the huge bar, which is a favourite meeting place for the business community. It is almost obligatory to squeeze past before taking a seat in the comfortable dining room, decorated in a contemporary manner. In this cosy setting, the chef radiates cheerfulness and a warm welcome before delighting his guests with a menu based on seasonal ingredients and the chef ’s own creativity. Regulars cannot get enough of the two iconic house specialities – chicken in a cream sauce and frog legs simply sautéed in butter and herbs. ‘Le Président’ also has a private room decorated with chef whites worn by the top chefs in the world for more private events or business meals.
