This is a superb restaurant serving authentic fare on ‘La Place Gailleton’. It owes its heritage to its founder in 1917, who came from the Ardèche. This hundred year-old tradition is given a touch of contemporary originality by Williams Jacquier and his daughter, Audrey who are carrying forward this authentic Lyon institution. They were awarded a Michelin ‘Assiette Gourmande’ and ‘Coup de Cœur’ in 2016. This ‘Meilleur Ouvrier de France’ 1996 award winner loves seasonal produce and constantly updates the resolutely traditional menu which is mainly composed of traditional Lyonnaise dishes such as quenelles, calf ’s head, roasted suckling pig and other casseroles of the day. The Richelieu pâté croûte is a safe bet, but why not give way to temptation and try the smoked foie gras, which is another house speciality, before enjoying a roast suckling pig or marinated salmon. The famous rice pudding, which has been on the restaurant’s menu for over a century, really is a must for dessert! On fine days, an alternative to the elegant main dining room is the small, pretty terrace.
