Auberge de L'île Barbe
By Jean-Christophe Ansanay-Alex

Set a new course to one of the shining beacons in Lyonnaise cuisine, Captain! The Auberge de l’Île Barbe stands like a lighthouse in the tumbling waters of the river Saône. This gourmet, green oasis is located just a few miles from the city centre. Jean-Christophe Ansanay- Alex offers an unforgettable fine-dining experience in this little paradise located in the heart of a magnificent 17th century listed residence. Jean-Christophe, a former pupil of Pierre Orsi and the favourite chef of Christina Onassis, makes fine-diners hearts beat faster with his use of the finest ingredients the region has to offer to create, amongst others, cappuccino-style porcini mushroom velouté, scallop mille-feuille and creel-caught crab claws, etc. As well as an impressive wine list, this Michelin-starred establishment caters for gourmet diners who smoke with its private room, ‘Havane’. Those with sea legs can arrive by boat, available from Tuesday evening to Saturday evening. All aboard!
