The Bernachon company, located on one of the most beautiful thoroughfares in the sixth arrondissement and well-known for its ‘palets d’or’ (a rich chocolate dessert made up of alternating layers of cake and chocolate cream, covered in a chocolate glaze), chocolate truffles, orangettes and other chocolate delights, legitimises the sin of gluttony. Philippe is the worthy successor in a line of pâtissiers-chocolatiers spanning three generations. He continues the family tradition with the support of his sisters, Candice and Stéphanie. The establishment is lauded for its Président and chocolate fans and also aims for excellence in its savoury range. At lunchtime, the restaurant’s ‘salon de thé’ delights fans of salads, terrines, tartes fines and other tartares that can be eaten quickly on the go. Those who are less rushed can succumb to the temptation of pike quenelles and Nantua sauce with fresh tomatoes.
