Olivier Fuchs is continuing a remarkable family tradition in this town with his wine shop, tucked away in the streets of old Saint-Tropez and which is one of the favourite meeting places for local epicureans. The former restaurateur, who was there during the heyday of the family-run restaurant ‘Chez Fuchs’ from 1951 to 2008, where he delighted fans of artichokes à la barigoule and Provence-style stuffed squid, and who then went on to open his own ‘Bistrot d’Olivier’, is now stocking his shelves with over 2,000 varieties of wine. In a bar-style atmosphere, you can taste exceptional wines, including local wine and wine from more distant vineyards. Several bottles can be savoured during pre-dinner drinks to accompany sardines, cold meats, strips of tuna and other types of tapas.
