La Table d’à Côté, located on the edge of the Monts d’Or, is both chic and welcoming. The elegantly contemporary dining area will delight both couples and groups and the pleasant terrace is a great place for guests to enjoy the summer months. However, it is the cuisine served in this establishment which is really what its reputation is based on. The chef’s key area of interest is regional ingredients, which he uses with precision to enhance combinations of flavour and texture. It is impossible not to be tempted by his dish of a hearty milk- fed veal fillet roasted with fresh thyme and glazed with veal jus and Sichuan pepper. Temptation is equally impossible to resist when faced with the sweetness of an authentic coffee tiramisu, mastered to perfection. Paul Offroy is flying the flag of a traditional, gourmet cuisine which respects top quality ingredients. The menu and recommendations in this restaurant are proudly marked ‘home-made’. It feels as if the chef, his team and the location are all uniting to promote fine dining.
