The village of Bouligneux, located in Dombes – a region full of sky and water where nature still reigns supreme – is rightly very proud of its pond, its forest, its hunting grounds and this restaurant full of character owned by Stéphane and Nathalie Konig. Fans of traditional, hearty fare and friendly hospitality will feel comfortable right from the start in the warmth of the welcome. The local ingredients in the dishes reveal all their flavour thanks to the careful attentions of the chef, who alters the menu according to the seasons. The fresh, wild frog legs are unsurpassed, and the flavour of the chicken quenelles with morels and the veal chop with chanterelle cream sauce are definitely worth the trip. The excellent value for money of this ‘nature-inspired’ gourmet cuisine means that it will be appreciated even more.
