The walls have stories to tell and the atmosphere is tangible in this venerable institution. Williams Jacquier and his daughter, Audrey, are taking up new challenges whilst respecting this heritage. For them, cuisine in Lyon is all about ‘common values and a group of friends’. The cuisine is authentic and fresh: frog legs, home-made rice pudding and not forgetting the unsurpassed pâté en croûte. Le Vivarais attracts a colourful clientèle. The tallest of stories are told here on the terrace in the summer, or in the large, ornate dining area when the weather is less clement. ‘Everyone feels at home’ says the owner, who can count several celebrities amongst his regulars. His most juicy anecdotes cannot be printed… they can be enjoyed at the end of a meal, over that final glass!
