The most stunning panoramic view in fine-dining in Lyon really deserves an exceptional chef. Christian Têtedoie combines virtuosity, warmth and humility with a cuisine that is as flavoursome as it is inventive. Visitors climb up to this paradise perched on the Fourvière hill, just a stone’s throw from the basilica, where they can enjoy his melting egg ‘parfait’, broccoli, garlic and mushrooms or his perfectly cooked pigeon with chanterelles and verbena. However, this Michelin-starred chef has yet another star on his menu: HTV. These three letters have become the restaurant’s signature dish – an unusual combination of braised calf’s head and lobster Rubbing shoulders with the Villa Maïa luxury hotel, the establishment also offers ‘Le Phosphore’, with its very reasonably priced bistro-style dinner menu. As for the ‘Terrasse de l’Antiquaille’, it is always crowded from late spring onwards with customers enjoying both the meals cooked on a plancha and the breathtaking view. To sum up, this is a ‘high point’ in fine dining in Lyon in every sense of the phrase.
